The Komondor is an ancient breed which originally came from Hungary. And has been used for generations as a livestock guard. Males are generally about 27" tall and females are about 25" tall. Their coats are all white and felt into long cords, often prompting observations that they have dread locks or look like a walking mop. As you can see by looking below at our male, Captain.

These dogs are introduced and live with their flock or herd at around 8 to 12 weeks of age. They bond with their charges and will defend them from intruders with a very good success rate. While extremely cute as puppies, they are not the dog for eveyone because of their independent natures, as they were bred to think and make decisions for themselves.
